PEARSON NOT PLANNING OVERHAUL

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has rejected speculation that the club are planning to overhaul the squad in order to survive in the Premier league next season. Leicester were promoted to the top division of English football several weeks ago.

This has allowed them a lot of time to prepare for the next season, which is expected to be heavy work for the players. Even though they have been the best team in the Championship by a long distance, it is understood that the club are concerned by the quality of players available to the disposal of Pearson.

Hence, rumours have been making rounds suggesting that Leicester would sign several players when the transfer window opens in the summer. This would be made possible by the influx of more than £ 120 million in cash that the club would receive from the Premier league.

According to the weel known italia uruguay probabilitá website, the new TV deal is one of the main reasons for this improved revenue. Pearson, though, has rejected such speculation, but has confirmed that the club will be making some important signings in order to strengthen the squad.

Teams that come up from the championship often spend a lot of money in the hope of staying up, but when they go down, they are unable to sustain the financial losses.

“It’s got to be a fluid situation. We operate with a small squad as it is. There aren’t going to be too many changes in that sense. We are probably going to be adding to it more than anything else. The additions have got to be right. The criteria for that is they either have experience playing in top-level football, in one of the best European leagues, or they have got to be an outstanding talent. We have got to recruit in a way that we get players,” said Pearson.
