BRADFORD GET BURY’S THOMPSON ON LOAN

League One side Bradford City have confirmed a season long loan deal for Bury player Adam Thompson.


The 24-year old defender joined Bury this summer from Southend. He has played in three games but he likely did not match the expectations of manager Lee Clark so he was shipped off.

The Northern Ireland player is with the national team for the international break. He would join Stuart McCall’s side after international duty. The former Watford centre half is expected to add to the City ranks this campaign. McCall said he was happy to have the player on board as he plays a role they clearly wanted to strengthen.

As Bury lose the new addition, they have added another in MihaiDobre from Bournemouth. The 19-year old winger is expected to feature for Bury until January. He would miss the clash with Scunthorpe this weekend as he is with Romania U-21 for international games. Read More

Bury FC has stopped their pursuit of Tom Aldred

It seems Bury FC has stopped their pursuit of Tom Aldred for some reason.


The defender was on the radar of the club a while back and there was even a meeting held between him and Lee Clark who is managing the Shakers at the moment and it was believed that Clark had put a 3-year contract on the table for Aldred in that meeting.

But, all of a sudden after that, there was a change of heart for Clark and he opted for a couple of other defenders leaving the Aldred deal in the cold box and recently, he said that he wouldn’t be making any more additions to his defence department this summer which clearly meant that the arrival of Aldred to the Shakers camp was out of the question, at least for now.

This is somewhat surprising because Clark had worked with Aldred before. In fact, he was the one who had brought him to Pool when he was at the helm at Bloomfield Road and he was pretty keen on reuniting with him, but, it wasn’t to be and the 26-year old would now have to look for another destination as his current deal with Pool has already expired. LEAGUE ONE SIDE BURY THRASH NORTHAMPTON 3-0

Bury, who are fighting a relegation battle this term, defeated their guests Northampton 3-0 in a League One clash over the weekend.


The Cobblers started the game poorly as goalkeeper Joe Murphy made an error that resulted in a goal in favour of James Vaughan as early as the third minute.

They tried returning the favour but Brendan Moloney fired over the bar. Both sides had chances that they failed to convert. Bury player Tom Pope sent his effort straight to the keeper; Murphy stopped Matty Taylor’s set piece; Ryan Lowe went close twice while Taylor Moore sent his volley over.

The scoreline had just the single goal until Miller headed in a rebound after Cameron Burgess’ effort. The 72nd minute goal made it 2-0 and it seemed it would end there until Vaughan scored in injury time to make it 3-0. Read More

BURY GETS NEW BOSS CHRISS BASS

Bury has hired a new boss in Chriss Bass who would resume with assistant Ryan Kidd.


Fans wold be delighted with the news which comes over a month from the sack of former coach David Flitcroft. The former manager failed to get a single win after 11 games in all competitions before his exit fro, the Sky Bet League One.

The interim manager Brass was confirmed as the substantive boss until the end of the term. Chris Sedgwick will remain as the manager of the feeder team.

Bury managed to get their third consecutive victory in the League Two

Bury managed to get their third consecutive victory in the League Two division after a narrow 2-1 success over Northampton Town. Manager David Flitcroft was a relieved man, as this victory helped keep the club’s promotion hopes alive.

Bury have been one inform teams in League Two over the last month. Apart from the 1-0 defeat against Oxford United, the club has won all their remaining matches in March. This good run of form started in the middle of February after a 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town. Flitcroft’s team appeared in danger of drawing against Northampton only for Adam El-Abd to changes the destination of the three points in injury time.

After being reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Riley in the 49th minute, it appeared that even a point from this match would be good for Bury. However, it would have meant conceding more ground in the title race with Shrewsbury Town and Burton Albion winning their matches this weekend. Only Wycombe dropped two points and this allowed Bury to close the gap on the final automatic promotion spot to just one point.
