BURY LOSE THIRD STRAIGHT MATCH

English League One side, Bury have lost another critical encounter as the season keeps getting worse for the team.

The outfit currently in 15th position having garnered 57 points from 45 matches prosecuted hoped to end the League One season on a high but fell to a straight third defeat in the hands of Chesterfield.


Chesterfield confirmed their place in League One next season with an emphatic victory over Bury. Jay O’Shea opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Cian Bolger had blocked Gary Liddle’s run into the box. In first-half stoppage time Lee Novak’s 25-yard strike deflected in to double the hosts’ lead. Bury’s Danny Mayor wasted a clear chance to pull one back before Dan Gardner finished off a classic Chesterfield counter-attack to seal the win for the hosts.

The match was a 50 – 50 but with Chesterfield having more shots attempted. Chesterfield had 16 with only six being on target while Bury could only manage five with just two hitting their targets. Bury’s David Flitcroft is hoping to sign new players in January

David Flitcroft has set his eyes in signing a few performers in this January transfer window but in order to add these players into his team, the 41 year old English manager might have to offload some players of his own in order to create enough space and avoid having an overblown squad with too many players which will unnecessarily increase the wage bill of the team.

Even if Flitcroft does indeed decide to release some of his players and generate some cash from those sales, the manager is well aware that he has his limits when it comes to signing new players to his team as Bury FC does not have the same kind of financial freedom as other clubs when it comes to luring in top players to his team but nonetheless, he will do everything in his power to sign the best players that he can but more importantly is to strengthen the areas of his team which have appeared to be the most vulnerable.

Brighton’s Chris Hughton will spend money wisely in the summer

Before the 2015/16 season kicks off, Chris Hughton of Brighton & Hove Albion wants to have his team fully assembled and prepared for any obstacle that this squad might have to face. Chris Hughton wants to rebuild his team but he wants to do this without spending a significantly large portion of money during the summer transfer window.

Hughton and his players managed to avoid being relegated just barely but what Hughton is hoping to accomplish is to improve his team and get them to a point where the possibility of being at the risk of being relegated from the English League Championship is miniscule.

One of the players that Chris Hughton wants to sign is AlirezaJahanbakhsh of NEC Nijmagan. Alireza is a 21 year old winger from Iran and in order to secure his services, a bid in the region of €1.5 million will have to be done. Read More

Bury managed to get their third consecutive victory in the League Two

Bury managed to get their third consecutive victory in the League Two division after a narrow 2-1 success over Northampton Town. Manager David Flitcroft was a relieved man, as this victory helped keep the club’s promotion hopes alive.

Bury have been one inform teams in League Two over the last month. Apart from the 1-0 defeat against Oxford United, the club has won all their remaining matches in March. This good run of form started in the middle of February after a 2-1 win over Cheltenham Town. Flitcroft’s team appeared in danger of drawing against Northampton only for Adam El-Abd to changes the destination of the three points in injury time.

After being reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Riley in the 49th minute, it appeared that even a point from this match would be good for Bury. However, it would have meant conceding more ground in the title race with Shrewsbury Town and Burton Albion winning their matches this weekend. Only Wycombe dropped two points and this allowed Bury to close the gap on the final automatic promotion spot to just one point. Bury bought in Joe Riley in January Transfer

Bury took advantage of the January transfer window and brought in Joe Riley as the new right back. The 23-year-old is one of the new players at the club but he is also joined by goalkeeper Nick Pope.

Both these players are expected to feature in the mammoth clash against Wycombe Wanderers this weekend. While Riley has moved on a permanent transfer, Pope is set to stay at Bury until the end of the season. He is on loan from Charlton Athletic. These new arrivals have also meant that manager David Flitcroft has changed the formation of the team.

Bury are now playing with four at the back rather than just three defenders like in the first half of the season. Flitcroft is known as a manager who favours the 3-4-3 formation. Read More
