BURY’S JOE RILEY IN HOT DEMAND

Joe Riley who plays for Bury is one of the highly sought after player for a summer transfer move away from the club, according to TeamTalk.com. A lot of clubs are reported to be interested in landing the player. They include Shrewsbury, Burton Albion, Bolton and Fleetwood Town.

The 24-year old began his professional career at Bolton Wanderers but couldn’t make much impact as he would have wanted as he was out injured most times. The most notable achievement when he was at the club was when he was particularly impressive in the 5-0 thumping of Stoke city FC in the English Premier League. He was given a standing ovation when he was finally pulled off the game.

Riley left the club to play for Oxford United on loan. During his spell at United, he made 24 appearances for the club but wasn’t retained after the season. He didn’t have much left on his deal at Bolton and the club didn’t extend it, so he joined Bury on a free transfer in 2015. He couldn’t even start immediately at the Lancashire club as he suffered a hamstring injury.

Riley has now gone on to make 41 appearances along with scoring goals for the club. His performance has now drawn interests from a host of clubs who want him to play in the coming campaign. Bury will likely not sell him this summer as they hope to continue in the coming season. The club just recently signed a former England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland on a one-year contract. The goal keeper was with Coventry, after previously featuring for Liverpool, West Brom, Wigan, Leicester, Doncaster, Sheffield Wednesday and Preston. He was set to join the club in the last campaign after passing a trial, but he opted to join Simon Grayson at Deepdale for the year before leaving.
